The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me, your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.----Psalms 138:8
God has chosen us!! That is exciting. I bet you also get excited when you are chosen for something special, don't you? Yes, He has chosen us for this year's FIL construction mission trip to Guatemala. We are looking forward to completing two homes in 10 days. And you know what? God has chosen you for something special also. My hope is that you listen to what God is telling you so that you can fulfill His purpose for you today, tomorrow and in the future. We are all in the mission field every day but who knows; perhaps some day He will choose you to go on a foreign mission trip also. Please let me leave you with a prayer from Max Lucado's book 'Out Live Your Life';
Dear Lord, you promised we would always have the poor among us. Help us to make sure that the reverse is true; that we are always among the poor---helping, encouraging and lending a hand wherever we can. Enable us to love the invisible God by serving the very visible poor in our corner of the world. Help us to be creative without being condescending, encouraging without being egotistic and fearless without being foolish. May the poor bless You because of us, and may our efforts somehow reduce the number of the poor. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
